
St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands – On Saturday, May 10, 2025, at about 1:27 a.m., Patrol officers were dispatched via 911 Emergency Call Center, to an auto accident on Midland Road vicinity of Mon Bijou stoplight.
Upon arrival at the scene the officers encountered two vehicles involved in an auto accident. An investigation into the auto collision was made and it was determined that Mr. John Vidale was at fault.
Mr. John Vidale was administered three Standardized Field Sobriety Tests (Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus Test, Walk and Turn, and One Leg Stand Test) at the scene to which he failed all three tests.
John Vidale, 65, was placed under arrest for Driving while under the Influence of an Intoxicating Liquor and Negligent Driving causing an Auto Collision. Vidale was transported to the Ancilmo Marshall Command Police Station where he submitted a chemical test (breathalyzer) of his breath to determine the alcohol content level. Mr. Vidale’s alcohol level was above the normal content level and as a result, he was transported to the Police Operations Administrative Building, where he was booked and processed. John Vidale relinquished his VI Driver’s License in lieu of bail.
