22-year-old Faces Domestic Violence Charges After Assault of Acquaintance

St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands – On April 27, 2025, at approximately 7:58 p.m., the 911 Emergency Call Center received a report of an assault. Officers were dispatched to La Grange and made contact with the victim, who stated that she was strangled by an acquaintance, Mr. Kinoro Hopkins.

Members of the Domestic Violence Unit were assigned to investigate this matter and made contact with the victim who stated that Hopkins came to her residence uninvited. She asked him to leave, however an argument ensued between them and Mr. Hopkins grabbed her by the throat restricting her airway.

On May 1, 2025, at about 4:00 p.m., Hopkins was present at the Wilbur H. Francis Command Police Station where he was advised of his Miranda Rights. Hopkins admitted that he went to the victim’s residence on April 27, 2025. He also admitted to putting his hand around the victim’s throat. Kinoro Hopkins, 22, was placed under arrest for Assault in the Second Degree DV. No bail was set in this matter as per the DV law. Hopkins was booked and transported to the John Bell Correctional Facility pending his Advice of Rights Hearing.
