Police Officers Executed Arrest Warrant for Suspect in a November 2024 Hit and Run Incident

St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands – On April 26, 2025, at approximately 11:17 a.m., Police Officers executed an Arrest Warrant issued for Mr. Ronel D. Burke, 48, at his residence. Mr. Burke was advised of his Miranda Warnings and transported to the Wilbur H. Francis Command Police Station.

Burke was charged with Leaving the Scene of an Accident, operating a Motor Vehicle in a Negligent Manner, and Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle on a Public Road. These charges stem from a hit-and-run incident involving a pedestrian that occurred on November 22, 2024, resulting in injuries to the pedestrian.

Mr. Burke was processed and subsequently released after posting bail for $555.00, which constitutes 10% of the total bail set at $5,500.00 as indicated in the Arrest Warrant. His condition of release was his mandatory appearance in court for his Advise of Rights hearing.
