St. Thomas, USVI - On Monday, August 7, 2023, 911 received a call for service in the Annas Retreat area for a suspicious male. Upon arrival of the Mariel C. Newton Command units, contact was made with the male victim, who stated that the ex-boyfriend of his female friend entered the residence while they were sleeping and pointed a gun at them. The male stated that the suspect forced him to exit the residence, leaving the female victim alone with her ex-boyfriend, who was still armed. The female victim corroborated the encounter with her ex-boyfriend and added that she was sexually assaulted. The subject fled the scene leaving his vehicle behind.

Gerard ‘Redz’ Auguiste

At 2:30 p.m., Mr. Gerard ‘Redz’ Auguiste, 22-years-old, was placed under arrest after he gave a recorded statement. The firearm was recovered, and Mr. Auguiste stated that he does not possess a license to carry a firearm. Mr. Auguiste was charged with Rape in the First Degree (DV), Burglary in the First Degree (DV), Assault in the Third Degree (DV), Simple Assault (DV), Disturbance of the Peace (DV), Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Obliterated Serial Number, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, and Possession of a Dangerous Weapon During the Commission of a Crime. No bail was set as per the Domestic Violence Law.
