Woman Arrested After Brandishing a Firearm at Two Individuals; Incident Caught on Surveillance

St. Thomas, USVI - On Thursday, June 29, 2023, the Criminal Investigation Bureau on St. Thomas arrested 54-year-old Joanne Rhymer, and charged her with assault in the third degree, reckless endangerment in the first degree, brandishing & exhibiting or using deadly weapons and disturbance of the peace.

Ms. Rhymer was held on $50,000.00 bail, pending further court action.

The two victims told police that they became embroiled in a verbal altercation with Ms. Rhymer’s parent, who is their neighbor. According to the victims, shortly thereafter, Ms. Joanne Rhymer arrived, exited her vehicle, and pointed a firearm at them, while making death threats. Video surveillance supported the victims’ account.
