St. Croix, USVI - On January 2, 2023 at 9:15 p.m., members of the Criminal Investigation Bureau arrested 35-year-old, Luis A. Lopez, Jr. Mr. Lopez was arrested for setting the Community First Building, formerly known as Villa Morales on fire, while three occupants were inside of the structure. No one was hurt during this incident.

He was charged with Arson First Degree and Destruction to other Property. Mr. Lopez was advised of his Miranda Rights and bail was set at $75,000.00. Unable to post bail he was transported to the John Bell Adult Correctional Facility where he was remanded pending his Advice of Rights Hearing at the Superior Court.
