False Business Agreements Leads to Man’s Arrest

St. Croix, USVI - In June of 2022, detectives from the Economic Crimes Unit, St. Croix District, initiated an investigation on Anson Gallaway, after five individuals filed complaints against him with the Virgin Islands Police Department in reference to several defaulted business contract agreements, written under three different business names identified as GHI Home Innovations LLC, GHI Global Investments LLC, and GHI Global Holding LLC. The investigation revealed that Anson Gallaway, operated in the Virgin Islands under three different businesses, selling prefabricated homes knowing that his business license does not authorize him to sell prefabricated homes. Evidence showed that Gallaway offered services and products to the individuals which he could not provide, causing them a loss of $238,262.51.

On December 12, 2022, at approximately 7:30 a.m., Anson Gallaway, age 45, surrendered himself to detectives at the Economic Crimes Unit, St. Thomas District, where he was placed under arrest without incident. Mr. Gallaway was processed and booked. He was charged with Obtaining Money by False Pretense and Grand Larceny (5 Counts). Based on the incident, bail was set at $100,000.00 for the alleged crime. Unable to post bail, Anson Gallaway was remanded to the Bureau of Corrections in St. Thomas pending his Advise of Rights Hearing.
