Frederiksted, St. Croix – On August 20, 2022, a citizen walked into the Wilbur H. Francis Command Police Station and reported that a minor was sexually assaulted.

Isaac Belardo

Members of the Criminal Investigation Bureau were notified, and an investigation was conducted. Witnesses were obtained and the investigation disclosed that Mr. Isaac Belardo, 20-years-old, an adult male, sexually assaulted a 12-year-old female.

Detectives of the Criminal Investigation Bureau contacted Mr. Belardo who was advised of his Miranda Rights, and he admitted to having sexual intercourse with the victim. On August 22, 2022, Mr. Belardo was placed under arrest, and charged for Aggravated Rape 1st Degree DV and Unlawful Sexual Contact 1st Degree. No bail was set. Mr. Belardo was remanded to the John Bell Correctional Facility pending his Advice of Rights Hearing set for August 24, 2022, at the Superior Court.
